Summer Program to Enhance Language and Literacy
The ASU Speech and Hearing Sciences is offering a Summer Program to Enhance Language and Literacy (SPELL) to support students with language and literacy difficulties. At SPELL, students will engage in fun and interactive activities to build language skills using fiction and nonfiction texts.
Who
Children who are going into 3rd grade (ages 7-8) Children with speech & language goals are welcome! Individualized goals will be addressed through individual, small group and large group activities. Engaging, hands-on activities led by Master’s student clinicians will support your child’s learning.
What
Your child will love the fun, motivating literacy-enhancing activities at camp, including readers’ theater, hands-on art and science projects and games. Activities integrate reading comprehension, spelling, phonological awareness, writing and more! Techniques to reduce stress related to reading and writing will help your child build literacy skills with confidence.
