Literacy and Language Group
Spring 2025
The ASU Speech and Hearing Sciences is offering a Literacy & Language group to support elementary-aged students. Literacy & Language is designed for children who require extra support with reading and writing and the phonological and language skills that are the building blocks for literacy. This is a research-based intervention program designed to boost skills through a focus on phonological awareness and reducing stress related to literacy practice.
Who
Children ages 6-12 with difficulties in the areas of literacy and language.
What
Sessions will include building skills related to literacy and reading, including decoding, listening, comprehension, reading comprehension, spelling and writing. Graduate students studying speech-language pathology guided by a certified speech-language pathologist will facilitate sessions.
When
Thursdays: January 23 - April 3 (no session March 13) from 4:30 – 5:20 p.m.
